How do you entertain a teen who is not having any of it right now?

How do you convince a 12 year old who secretly wants to get their face painted that it’s okay?

And what do you even do for a 13th birthday?

Here is our run down for the most successful tween and teen birthdays ever! (Complete, of course, with our list of favorite entertainment!)

Consider an “upgrade” of popular kid activities. Because tweens are by definition somewhere-in-between, some days they’ll be super into face painting. And some days it’s the worst idea ever. This is especially true for a group of friends! Meet them in-between for UV-reactive face and body paint. Our designs are a little more grown up, but still face-painting fun. (And yes, we also rent black lights!) Or,

Go for more grown-up body art. Henna is generally reserved for adults and teens, and feels super luxurious. Plus, it lasts a week or two, so it feels more grownup than temporary body art they’ve done before. Airbrush tattoos look real, so they’re another fun option for “grown up” entertainment. Flash tattoos are also a new, fun trend they’ve probably seen on Instagram and make for a great surprise!

Do something different. Caricatures are a well-recognized activity that most people have never actually gotten to do! Plus, they make great take-aways (ditch the goody bags!) and make for great memories down the road.

Throw a “club-themed” party. You can still enjoy music, get face painted, and even do balloon twisting in a way that’s tween- and teen-centered with our night-club family packages. It’s the perfect way to combine activities they secretly love (who DOESN’T love face painting?) in a way that will make them feel like an adult and have their friends talking about it for months. This is the BEST way to throw the best party they’ve ever attended!
